Will react-native-maps be billed for using with own map tiles?

I would like to use the react-native-maps in my project but I was little bit scared about setting up billing information during getting an API key from Google. In my project I need to use my custom map tiles downloaded from my own api server. Does this new Google policy means that using react-native-maps for my use-case will not be free? And if it is not free don't you know if there is any other free alternative that I can use in my project?

  • If you are using their API, there is a charge (I believe, IANAL or an expert in their billing). I believe a "map load" is defined as a load of the API, doesn't have anything to do with the tiles..
