I am preparing for an english second language test IELTS.I am focused on improving my writing. Please read my essay and let me know if you find any mistake. Thank you.Note: the first paragraph contains the question that I try to solve with my essay.

The air we breathe has a major impact on our health and the environment. However, the air pollution is constantly growing and at current levels it can be fought only globally. That is to say, individual efforts to improve air quality will not give any results, and it's solely responsibility of our governments to reduce air pollution. Do you agree or disagree?

Although the air we are breathing has a relevant influence on the environment and our own health, pollutants on it keep rising, and at the present conditions they just can be regulated with a help of global scale. Because of that, it is often argued that efforts made by people have no real influence, and that the only ones responsible for improving air quality are the governments. I disagree with this opinion and think individual efforts made by persons also give important results, therefore, improve air quality is not just a duty of governments, but of all us also.

First of all, I believe individual efforts play an important role for cleaning the air we breathe. Efforts made by one person could be seemed as useless, but if we add all persons around the world, it would be a significant contribution to reduce the air total pollution. For instance, a recent study made by an important university revealed that if just the fifty percent of global population would reduce its emissions by ten percent, the total pollution in air could decrease by almost eighty percent of its current level. That is why individual efforts have a significant impact that should be considered in order to improve the air quality.

Secondly, responsibility about cleaning air cannot rely just on governments, but on people also, because governments are not able to reach the targets required without help of people. Create a law to regulate pollution is not the definitive solution, it is necessary that the people contribute to accomplish it, not just doing their part, but also supervising the accomplishing of others. For example, in a city called Bogota, the law enforcement agents were insufficient to inspect all sources of pollution, and in consequence levels kept high. Nevertheless, as citizens were concerned on it, decided to combine forces using their smartphones to catch those industries that were violating the law of emissions. Sending this information to the police, they were capable of detecting to those who had violated the laws, without even moving out from their office, which made levels decrease by ninety percent in just two months, a fact without precedents all over the world. Based on this information, it is clear that reducing pollution on air is not a duty solely of governments, but also of people, because they can help significantly.

To summarize. I strongly believe that efforts made by the people are significant to have a better quality of air, and in consequence, the responsibility to do something rely not just in governments but in all us.
