VLOOKUP equivalent for ms-word: help to auto-populate cells in a table

0

I would like to be able to enter information in the first cell of a row, and for Word to auto-populate the other cells in that row with pre-determined data.

At present, the cells in the first column have a content control dropdown list of 20+ items, and I manually look up and enter the remainder of each row.

I could do this in Excel with a vlookup function, how can I achieve this in Word?

I'd be happy to keep a separate file with the data in and for a macro to summon and lookup the data?
