When I try to push my code for a Django site to Heroku, I am getting the following error:

remote:            /usr/bin/ld:

'n');f.close();exec(compile(code, __file__, 'exec'))" install --record
/tmp/pip-4wci3c07-record/install-record.txt --single-version-
externally-managed --compile" failed with error code 1 in /tmp/pip-
build-hq2rsseo/mod-wsgi/
remote: ! Push rejected, failed to compile Python app.

To https://git.heroku.com/stormy-stream-43261.git
! [remote rejected] master -> master (pre-receive hook declined)
error: failed to push some refs to 'https://git.heroku.com/stormy-
stream-43261.git'

I think it has something to do with Heroku not supporting some dependency, but regardless, I can't figure out what to do to resolve this issue. Any ideas?

  • You probably want this: devcenter.heroku.com/articles/python-c-deps but yes you're getting this error because you're using some Python moduels that need gcc installed as a system library to compile
