The tardy sun now breaks through the dreary sky, bringing forth a few scattering ribbons of April afternoon. Yesterday’s late-night blizzard had transformed the world into a crystalline biosphere. Amidst the frosty sea that is the backyard, stands THAT snow peach tree, with its trunk, skinny and teeming with knotted knuckles, twisting upwards from the white landscape. Tall, it stands , and bare of leaves. Its arms heavily slump in fair blossoms. These flowers, beautifully abundant every April, hastily wither by each passing wind. But because of last night’s unexpected sleek, the tree now wears a thin coat of ice, temporary entombing each petal from its impending fall.
