Gitlab artifacts and untracked

1

What is the use of artifacts:untracked in the artifacts?

I see that untracked files e.g. binaries are part of the artifacts without setting untracked: true.

So what is the use of it?

Because (from the doc) you can define the exact paths you want to consider when sending untracked files as your artifact:

          artifacts:
          untracked: true
          paths:
          - binaries/

          • @Jim But do you get other folders as well. The way I understand it, that would allow to limit what untracked files you want.
