How do I force Firefox to trust local DNS resolved on MacOS?

0

I have problems where Firefox magically decides to resolve some internal addresses using different resolvers than the default one specified by MacOS (Mojave).

DNS resolutions works well in current lan where DHCP server returns one DNS server which is to be trusted.

Still, Firefox resolves with different value and it appears to insist to do so.

Tools like ping, nslookup, Network Utility or Safari doe resolve the hostname with one IP but Firefox persistently resolve them with other.

I am almost sure this is caused by the HTTPS based DNS resolution they do with CloudFar, mainly bypassing the operating system when it comes to resolution.

This is a serious issue for intranets (corporate or private) where some DNS entries may resolve different if you are inside the intranet or outside of it (most of the time they do not, but... if the public DNS has a wildcard on the same domain,... they will resolve very different).
