implementation of 802.1x authenticator in linux

we are planning to add 802.1x port-based authentication support in our networking based product(router) but we are confused that how to implement it in software.We are using switch which is having option related to 802.1x port-based authentication but In linux kernel 2.6.33,802.1x support(wired) is not there.Can anybody help?
