Printer uses other colours to print “false” black and white

0

Some time ago, Black and white would not print and offered to merge two colours to generate a "false" black and white. I wish to reverse this choice as I am constantly replacing the Cyan and never using the Black cartridge.
Simple explanation required, please, as I am an ordinary User, rather than a computer expert

an answer to your question would need more info from you. What brand and model of printer is this? What operating system/version are you using?

  • Printers can use colour to extend the number of greys they can print. I do not know of any printers that use colour to print black. Hence, colour may be used in mono photos or other images, but not in black text. For further details we need the info @SteveRindsberg requested.
