How can I make it so Firefox can open a local html file in the Resilio Connect file manager by double clicking?

Chrome shows up in the "Open With" choice of browsers when trying to open a local html file in the Resilio Connect file manager. This is the path that displays...

content://com.resilio.connect.agent.provider/root-path/storage/3132-6433/Android/data/com.resilio.connect.agent/files/1/Countries/cm-cameroon/cm-cameroon-cm1-fra-spa/HHR-Learn2Read.html

However, Firefox does not show up in the list of "Open With" list of available browsers. Yet, I know that Firefox CAN open the html file if I manually put this path in the FF address bar.

File:///storage/3132-6433/Android/data/com.resilio.connect.agent/files/1/Countries/cm-cameroon/cm-cameroon-cm1-fra-spa/HHR-Learn2Read.html

Is this a problem that Resilio Connect file manager is not properly disclosing path info to would be browsers (in this case FF) OR Firefox is not using the proper standard for sensing the correct path to use?

[EDIT]
How can Android app developers of file managers make it such that they expose both paths to browsers?
Content://
and
File:///
