I have a prior year file and a current year file. I want the sheets of both to be extracted and put into one file. I was also hoping later to improve this by using some sort of function that could identify which was the correct file to pick instead of specifying (the file from the current year and prior year with contain a code within the file name, but the file name and formats will still differ e.g. "AB123").

I've tried a few solution but I am struggling to understand them so if you could explain that would be much appreciated :)

Initially I tried using PBPython instructions which said to start with the folowing

!ls ../in

I got stuck on this as it wasn't working when I was typing this in. I then thought that I needed to set the correct directory or where it was looking at so I then searched up changing the directory using cd then typing the folder I wanted it to look at but then this kept changing.

[24]: cd
C:Usersxx In
[25]: cd documents
C:Usersxxdocuments In
[34]: cd
C:Usersxx

I was expecting my change to be retained but it didn't

I then tried using os.getcwd and chrdir but it didn't change the directory using cd...
