Copying local file to /var or /etc directory in Yocto project

0

I have 2 files to be copied into /etc

I wrote my recipe named MyRecipe like this

SRC_URI += "file://File_A
file://File_B "

do_install(){
install -d {D}{sysconfdir}
install -m 444 File_A File_B {D}{sysconfdir}
}

FILES_${PN} += "${D}${sysconfdir}/File_A
${D}${sysconfdir}/File_B
"

when I run bitbake MyRecipe, I get an error that the files are not found. I modified my recipe to point to the real path of both files and yet it complains.

Could someone tell me what are my errors and provide some explanations as I am new and do not understand how the recipe works.
