Singular and plural terms (nouns) in a sentence
I have a sentence as follows:
'The contribution of different timescale components to the annual mean surface temperature...
Should this be 'contribution' or 'contributions'? In this case, each individual timescale component makes one contribution.

Alternatively "The contribution of each different timescale component..." keeps things singular.
