What 'be + to' sentence, like “she's to leave” can be made with be only (without am, is, are, was or...

0

What sentence of this kind can be made?

With am, is etc... we have:

  • I'm to go

  • He was to come

What 'be to' sentences are known to you that can be made without those but "be" only?

Sentences that are different than what I mean:

first example:

  • The wish might be to go

Analying steps:

  1. Converted to present it would be "the wish is to go"

  2. So it actually means that someone wished to leave

  3. The problem is that it doesn't mean that the wish for itself, as a living character, has plans to go.

second example:

  • What color shall be to impress you?

Analying steps:

  1. Converted to past for example it would be "The color was to impress"

  2. So it actually means that someone colored for impressing.

  3. The problem is that it doesn't mean that the color itself, as a creature, was to impress (let's say the color has a wish to impress the queen)

I hope I've explained it better. Thanks for any help.

  • Does it mean something like "I would (what I would is >>) be to go? So if that happens I am to go? It sounds similar (And I'm fine with it) to I would go, which means: if that happens I go.

  • I re-read it now and it seems the comment given by you was a full example sentence. What bothers me is that it's not what I meant. If so, the example says "the option would be (What it would be is >>) to go. If I'm failing to make it clear tell me and I'll re-explain.
