Android TV: Device connected via ethernet, but no internet connection. Yet YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime...

0

I have a weird networking issue for the Nvidia Shield Android TV device. I have it plugged in via ethernet and it gives me a message saying that ethernet is not connected.

I open CrunchyRoll, PlutoTV, HaystackTV, Hulu, HBO, and Google Play Store and they don't work which is expected. However when I open YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime and they work perfectly. How?

I thought it could be an ethernet issue so I plug the same ethernet connection into an Apple Tv OS device and every app works no problem.

Also, when I switch the Nvidia Shield to use wifi everything works as expected.

Anyone have any clues of what might be going on?

EDIT: Looks like a lot of Nvidia Shields are having ethernet issues after looking on the Nvidia forums.
