EFI fails to load anything after Linux failed install, adding EFI entries does not persist

I have a Lenovo Yoga 510-14AST. I tried to install CentOS and now Windows would not boot (Initially CentOS would boot in non-UEFI mode, but grub ould not load Windows anyway and Windows is needed).

I eventually re-generated the content of the EFI system partition with Windows commands. There is also a Grub entry there now. But the system now seems to ignore the content of the EFI system partition.

efibootmgr under (live USB) Linux shows only entried for network and USB boot. EasyUEFI under (portable, DVD loaded via USB drive) Windows claims that the Windows Loader UEFI entry is there - but the loader never starts.

With both utilities, I tried adding entries (for Grub and for Windows in efibootmgr; for Grub in EasyUEFI as it already shows WIndows). But once I reboot the system it still won;t; load except from USB - and the changes in UEFI boot order, the new entries, are all gone.

SecureBoot is already disabled.

How can I fix this? I need to load at least Windows; ideally I need to dual0boot between Windows and Linux.
