Peppermint Linux 6 password loop at login

Peppermint version Six worked properly until recently when the network icon disappeared, which complicated access to the Internet. Problems continued, until after accepting the password, it blinks and asks for password again, and again.
I installed another copy of Peppermint alongside the previous installation on the same HDD, but now the home(root) folder of the previous installation is encrypted, and I can't access the encrypted folders of that previous installation.
How may I access the old encrypted folders from the newly installed Linux?

Is it your login password that it accepts & immediately logs you out again? Or just Want to access the old encrypted home?

So what's the question now - recover the files, or fix the login issue?
