How can i analyze differences in product price between snapshots for vendor i.e. amazon and get a list of products with positive/negative price differences?
Docs contain productId, vendor (amazon/ebay etc.), price, snapshot_date:
{productId:5, vendor:1, price:15, snapshot_date: 06072018},
{productId:7, vendor:1, price:12, snapshot_date: 06072018},
{productId:8, vendor:1, price:27, snapshot_date: 06072018},
{productId:5, vendor:1, price:13, snapshot_date: 21112018},
{productId:7, vendor:1, price:17, snapshot_date: 21112018},
{productId:8, vendor:1, price:27, snapshot_date: 21112018},
There are around 30M docs per snapshot, 8 snapshots are kept. I need to generate a list of products that have become more expensive/cheaper between two chosen snapshots. Meaning if i compare 06072018
and 21112018
for vendor: 1
i'd get
productId:7, price_difference: 5
productId:5, price_difference: -2
ordered by difference in descending order. I looked into all aggregations but not one seems to be capable of doing this kind of analysis.

Did you check the scripted metric aggregation ? elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/… I dont know about performance, but this aggregation can do whatever you want
