Google engineers advise disabling innodb doublewrite when using their Cloud MySQL; however, I do not see any way of doing this. The --skip-innodb_doublewrite flag is not listed as editable, and SHOW VARIABLES LIKE 'innodb%'; says that innodb_doublewrite is ON. The flag is also not listed in the database's edit page, and it is not a dynamic variable so I cannot set it in the console.
