I encountered a problem after changing some of my components. I have replaced an Intel Pentium G3220 with a AMD Ryzen 5 1600x and accordingly my motherboard, a Gigabyte H81M-S1 by an Asrock B450M-HDV. I have as well bought new DDR4 RAM.

I have setup all the components, plugged all the cables to the motherboard, but at startup all fans are running (fan of CPU, GPU and case), the startup led is glowing but the screen get no signal and the hdd seems running but does not boot.

I have already tried to unplug RAM but the motherboard doesn't seem to have speaker integrated and therefore doesn't beep. I have also tried to clear CMOS but it doesn't seem to change anything.

I think it’s maybe my power supply probably not powerful enough but I have tried to boot without my graphics card to use less power and see if the HDD boot properly (I know that I can’t display anything without graphics card and iGPU) but it doesn’t solves the problem. I have also thought about a defective motherboard but don’t know how to be sure.

  • There are too many possible causes right now, and hardware issues like this are very difficult to diagnose remotely. You should either perform the standard troubleshooting methods of replacing things until it works, or take the computer to a local computer technician to do this.
