Run Squid as some other user

I am trying to install squid (by building the source) on Amazon Linux and I want to run the Squid process not as the "squid" user but as some other user who exists in the server. Is there way to do that ?
It seems that the squid installer by default tries to run the process as 'squid' user. Is there a way to override it with my system user?
When I try to run Squid as a different user, I get the following error (rightfully because squid user does not exist in the system):-
Squid serviceFATAL: getpwnam failed to find userid for effective user 'squid'
Thanks,
Ganesh
