  • What's wrong with simply saying that? Or the more general: "I enjoy being artistic," maybe? I think that the big problem with my second sentence is that all "physically active" pursuits are performance related, while artistic pursuits are not homogeneous and "music" is a performance while "painting" is an endeavor, so you cannot find a direct equivalent.

If you really want to liken apples to oranges, you could say for things related to art like music and painting




”I enjoy being physically artistic"

”I enjoy being physically creative"




or




”I enjoy being actively creative"




or simply




”I enjoy being creative"




All of those will distinguish you from a sports person.
