highstock xaxis.ordnial = true not working

1

I want to remove the gaps created in my candlestick highstock chart.
I tried setting ordinal = true, but there is no change. My chart is generating a lot of gaps during the flat days / weekends.
Is this a bug of HighStock charts?

   var chart = Highcharts.stockChart({
chart: {
renderTo: 'container',
events: {
load: function () {

//---get new tick
}
}
},
navigator: {
margin: 2
},
rangeSelector: {
allButtonsEnabled: true,
selected: 2
},

title: {
text: 'STOCHASTIC'
},
xAxis: {
ordinal: true
},

series: [{
type: 'candlestick',
name: 'STOCHASTIC',
data: content,
dataGrouping: {
units: [
[
'week', // unit name
[1] // allowed multiples
], [
'month',
[1, 2, 3, 4, 6]
]
]
}
}]
});
<script src="https://code.jquery.com/jquery-3.1.1.min.js"></script>
<div id="container" style="height: 400px; min-width: 600px"></div>
