Angular route change animation when component doesn't change

0

I'm building a training app where more often than not the next page or step in the training is the same component as the current page. Only the content changes. From what I know Angular doesn't reload the component when the url changes and the component is the same. I have a course wide fade animation between pages querying ':enter' and ':leave', but obviously there are no query results when the component doesn't change, so no fade animation. So how can I get the fade animation to happen when the component doesn't change?
