Can I open AD RMS-protecte documents with MS Office for Mac
We run AD RMS
(Active Directory Rights Management Services), which allows us to protect MS Office documents. Currently our users can only open protected documents in Office for Windows
.
According to this article https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/it-pro/windows-server-2012-R2-and-2012/dn673574(v=ws.11), if we install Active Directory Rights Management Services Mobile Device Extension
, Mac users will be able to open protected documents as well. The article gives examples of what the Mobile Device Extension
will allow the users to do, but it does not explicitly mention Office files. The closest mention is Office files (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) that are a PDF copy (.ppdf format)
.
So my question is, will installing Active Directory Rights Management Services Mobile Device Extension
on the AD RMS
server allow our users to open protected Word and Excel files in the latest Office for Mac
?
