how to properly sync windows mail?

0

On a Windows touch screen table, the surface 3, how do I get mail to update and sync with gmail?

About shows:

Mail
Version 16005.11029.20108.0

and ver from the console shows:

Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.17134.472]

There's no error message, it's just out of date. I opened the store, don't see how to update the app. Even if it's out date it should still receive IMAP mail from both gmail and gandi. If I could remove that would be great, but I don't want to take any chances.
