Fetch() contacts Host OS instead of VM

0

Background:

I'm working with Apache on a CentOS 6 virtual machine that serves a bundled React website. This website is accessible from my host OS via 192.168.10.10.

Throughout the website, there are multiple fetch() calls to a Node server that is running on the VM (located at localhost:4000, which is equivalent to 192.168.10.10:4000).

Problem:

The website (192.168.10.10) is trying to performing fetch() calls to the host OS's localhost (aka, 192.168.10.1 - my operating system) rather than localhost:4000 on the VM (192.168.10.10). As the IP address of the VM is dynamic, I can't easily replace localhost:4000 within fetch() as I don't know the IP Address of the VM beforehand.

How would I go about telling fetch() that localhost:4000 refers to the VM (192.168.10.10:4000) and not the host OS (192.168.10.1:4000)?
